The first days
I arrived back in CHC on the 4th of February, on the 8th we flew to McMurdo and on the 9th I made it back to Pole. Only 6 days before closing, so there were a few busy days ahead, but it
was great to start the winter right away as well.
The last two planes were on the 15th of February, they took the last summer folks out and left only 50 of us to winter at the South Pole. The last plane does a flyby, i.e. it buzzes the station in a low pass, but this years wasn't so spectacular as previous years.
